To select an appropriate type of proximity sensor for your applications, following criteria should be considered;
- Object Material, Object Size & Object Texture
- Distance of object from sensor (in mm)
- Mounting space available
- Ambient temperature.
- Object movement speed relative to fixed / moving sensor.
- Surrounding Environmental factors like dust, dirt, splashing coolants etc.
- Output Load Current requirement.
- Available supply voltage with possible variations.
